“Sandy is much more than a writer. She offers thoughtful insight into every project and has a magical ability for producing quality, on-target content, even when very little direction or background is available.”

About Sandy Weiskittel
Since 1993, I have been a free-lance writer, editor, promotional planner
and project manager. In addition to health care, my keenest interests
are education and nonprofit organizations.
I graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati in 1982, summa cum
laude in Honors English. I received my master’s degree in English,
magna cum laude, from The Ohio State University, in 1988.
Early in my career, I worked at Bethesda Hospital in Cincinnati, then
Riverside Methodist Hospitals in Columbus. Upon my return to Cincinnati,
I worked for Laine and Lane Marketing Communications, specialists in
health care communications.
I have pursued free-lance writing and marketing communications for
a variety of health care institutions, as well as other clients.
The telling of the story is what I’ve come to appreciate over
time, and I’ve come to embrace it as my craft. Sometimes it’s
straightforward: a crisp, clear explanation of a new medical procedure
or product offering. Sometimes it’s the poignant recounting of
a woman who overcame cancer or a family faced with end-of-life decisions.
I credit my high school education with nurturing my love of the written
word and my college education with encouraging me to think deeply and
with an open mind.
By the time I graduated from college, I knew I wanted to use my communication
abilities to create a positive impact on my piece of the world. And that’s
what I’ve been striving to do throughout my career.
